A non-residential camp for young orchestral musicians

This much admired and respected non-residential camp is now in its 50th year. For a week each year, State Music Camp  provides instrumental students the opportunity to participate in one of our two symphonic orchestras (Bishop and Alexander) or two junior string orchestras (Scott and Thomson).

The young musicians work with some of Australia’s finest conductors and tutors to explore and develop their talents.

At the conclusion of the camp, after five days of music-making with friends, students enjoy the exhilaration and satisfaction of orchestral concert playing at the Saturday evening concert.

2011 - our 50th year

We estimate more than 7,500 young musicians have enjoyed the State Music Camp experience since 1962. This year's camp will be very special and we look forward to welcoming new and past players.

Please invite your friends to join you this year. Enrol early to avoid disappointment.
